Releasing Judgment

It is a real struggle for me to release my need for a literal interpretation of my reference photos. By making myself do abstract pieces using a palette knife, I am stretching my ability to deconstruct these photos. This series is a great opportunity to focus on color, value and design without being invested in the outcome.
